SIS
The Software Integration System (SIS) is the NRL designation for the customized Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI) COTS product. The ADSI is fielded with the United States Air Force (USAF), United States Army (USA), United States Marine Corps (USMC), and United States Navy (USN). It is a product designed by Advanced Programming Concepts, Inc. (APC). In the A2C2S the SIS was designed for message translation for messages not directly supported by ATCCS applications. Part of the customization was porting the product to the Windows NT operation system and providing provisions to talk to the Joint Combat Information Terminal (JCIT) and ATCCS applications over the Ethernet.
- Using the SIS, the warfighter is able to make sense of normally dissimilar sources of information. With SIS, the warfighter can have the fused, correlated, real-time picture of the battlespace needed to conduct the mission.
- The SIS is unique in its ability to process four different types of information: Tactical Data Links, Radar plots, Intelligence information, and Non-real-time information.
