Conformal fluidic nozzles use air injection at key locations within the nozzle to provide flow throttling and/or thrust vectoring. Unlike conventional convergent flap nozzles, fixed conformal nozzles feature no moving parts and are designed to integrate with the aft structure of the aircraft providing significant airframe weight and cost savings. These design features also provide excellent low-observable characteristics without trading off flow throttling or vectoring performance.
