WEAPON POSTURES & ROE

- Imposition of weapon postures during normal peacetime steaming does not inhibit Commander’s unrestricted right of self defense as provided by ROE, but may impede ability to defend own ship.
- Prudent step in most operating environments to minimize the risk of inadvertent weapons firing. TACNOTE XZ0050-2-94
  Notes:

- It is incumbent upon the CO to move to higher states of readiness to protect the ship while at the same time keeping his ISIC informed of deviations from assigned weapons postures.
