Notes:
- These restrictions are largely focused on peace time operations. Heightened alert conditions within the fleet or battle group (ARG) will probably lead to transitions out of weapons postures.
- There are requirements to conduct live exercise firing of weapons while in weapons postures; the guidance must be followed, albeit sometimes arduous and cumbersome.
- For the first time in history the Group Commander has a widely accepted method for ordering his entire group into some KNOWN state of weapons readiness.
