Leadership has identified the "line in the sand" by announcing 50 submarines as the minimum. Factoring the current build rate, decommissioning schedule and depot-level work required in concurrent years, the submarine force is in real jeopardy of not keeping pace. Tragically, without national support, this depicts a possible peacetime presence for national security in 2015. The nation needs more defense than this!
