With the sizable reduction in the number of submarines comes the precipitous loss or consolidation of maintenance expertise and support. Presuming requisite resources and attention are paid up front, this challenge may yet be surmountable. They key question is whether we can accomplish this critical maintenance on time to support our increased tasking.
