M910 / M910E1 Cartridge, 25mm, Target Practice Discarding Sabot with Trace
(TPDS-T)
The M910 is a limited range munition ballistically matched to the service cartridge,
25mm, Armor Piercing Discarding Sabot with Trace (APDS-T), M791 for 2000 meters but with
a maximum range of less than 8000 meters. The M910 also simulates the M791 in linking,
loading, and storage. The M910 is fired in lieu of the M791 from the M242 25mm autogun turret
mounted on the M2/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle System during live fire gunner training and
qualification.
The M910E1 will be a limited range munition ballistically matched to the service
cartridge, 25mm, Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot with Trace (APFSDS-T),
M919 for 2500 meters but with a maximum range of less than 8000 meters. The M910E1 will
also maintain a ballistic match with the M791 for 2000 meters. The M910E1 will simulate the
M791 and M919 in linking, loading, and storage. The M910E1 will be fired in lieu of the M919
and M791 from the M242 25mm autogun turret mounted on the M2/M3 Bradley Fighting
Vehicle System during live fire gunner training and qualification. The M910E1 will be a direct
replacement for the M910.
The M910 cartridge is a
fixed round of
ammunition
approximately 8 and 3/4
inches in length and 1
pound in weight. The
projectile consists of a
steel spin stabilized
sub-projectile core
containing a
consolidated tracer, an
aluminum alloy or steel
windscreen, and
aluminum alloy pusher
base encapsulated with a
discarding plastic sabot
and protective cap. The
projectile is crimped into
the standard 25x137mm
steel cartridge case
loaded with either single
or double base propellant
and primed with the
M115 percussion primer
and IB52 booster. The
cartridge is linked in the
M28 link and packaged
in the PA125 ammunition
container.
The M910 received
Standard A Type
Classification in
September 1988 and was
first Materiel Released in
December 1990. It is
currently in full scale
production with two
approved sources: Alliant
Techsystems in Hopkins,
MN and PRiMEX
Technologies in Marion,
IL.
