CARTRIDGE, CALIBER .50, BAll, ARMOR PIERCING, M2

This cartridge was the standard item of issue for use in all .50 caliber machine guns. It was designed for use against armored aircraft, armored vehicles, concrete shelters, and similar bullet resisting targets. It could be identified by the blackened tip of the bullet. It consisted of a cartridge case, primer, propelling charge, and bullet.

Use: Machine Guns, Caliber .50, M2, M85.
Description: The cartridge is identified by a black bullet tip.
Purpose: This cartridge is for use against light-armored or unarmored targets;
concrete shelters and similar bullet resisting targets.
