Basis of Issue Plan - BOIP

A.  DESCRIPTION:  The Mount Gun: 40mm MK64 MOD 7 allows the MK 19
MOD 3 to be mounted to various firing platforms through the use of
the Pintle Adapter Assy especially developed for the MK19 MOD 3. The
MK 64 Mount consists of Carriage and Cradle Assy, Pintle Adapter
Assy, Train and Elevation Assy, Empty Case Catch Bag, Travel Lock
Adapter Assy and Travel Lock Bracket Assy.

   B.  CAPABILITIES: The Mount Gun: 40mm MK64 Mod 7 will act as an
interface between the Machine Gun Grenade 40mm: MK19 MOD 3 and the
various firing platforms. Thus improving the firing stability.

   C.  EMPLOYMENT: The Mount Gun: 40mm MK64 MOD 7 will be employed
throughout the Active Army and Reserve Components that have the
Machine Gun Grenade 40mm: MK19 MOD 3 assigned.

   D.  BASIS OF ISSUE:  One per Machine Gun Grenade 40MM, MK19
MOD 3; LIN M92362.

  E.   POWER REQUIREMENTS: There are no power requirements for this
piece of equipment.

  F.   TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS: This piece of equipment will be
transported by the same means as the Machine Gun Grenade 40mm: MK19
MOD 3 to which it is assigned or being used with.

  G.   PERSONNEL/MAINTENANCE IMPACTS: There are no new maintenance
task requiring any new skills or special tools to maintain the Mount
Gun: 40mm MK64 MOD 7.

             a. Unit Level Maintenance: Performed by Unit Armorer
            (92Y).

             b. Direct Support Level Maintenance: Performed by Small
               Arms Repairer (45B).
