All Terrain Crane (ATEC)
The All Terrain Crane (ATEC) is an all hydraulic crane capable of traveling over primary, secondary and off road surfaces at the tactical support level. Technical characteristics include: diesel engine, power shift transmission, three mode steering, independently controlled hydraulic outriggers and 80 ft. telescoping boom. The ATEC is used for construction, maintenance, bridging and resupply activities.
Current procurement will field 338 new Grove Model AT422T cranes between 1998 and 2004.
