FATHAWK/WETHAWK
Remote, Rearm, and Refuel Deployable
Distribution System
The FATHAWK/WETHAWK Remote, Rearm, and Refuel Deployable Distribution System [R3D2S] is a mission essential system and provides a rapid emplacement for quick rearming and refueling during deep operations as described under Aviation Refueling Mission Area Analysis. This lightweight electric
fuel system is needed to accomplish high tempo refueling of OH-58D aircraft to increase on line times. The need exists when rearming and refueling sites are inaccessible by ground transport and when the urgency requires fueling prior to the establishment of a Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP). The R3D2S requires rapid emplacement by a UH-60 with external fuel tanks called a “WETHAWK” and crew to refuel two OH-58D aircraft simultaneously.
