Spread Spectrum Modulation
The narrowband signal is suppressed when transmitting spread spectrum. With Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) the information being transmitted is mixed with a psuedo-noise (PN) digital signal which causes the RF signal to be replaced with a very wide bandwidth signal with the spectral equivalent of a noise signal.
Radios that use DSSS: GPS, EPLRS, NTDR, Link-16
