MCS Connectivity(see next slide for associated diagram)
Types of information transferred
- Battle Graphics in the form of map overlays
- C2 messages
Comms Flow:
1 The MCS workstation generates USMTF messages and sends them onto the A2C2S LAN.
2 If the address for the message is not on the LAN, then it is picked up by the Cisco Router and sent to the NTDR. The NTDR then routes the message to the intended recipient on the NTDR net.
3 The NTDR in the TOC receives the message and routes it to the TOC’s LAN. The MCS workstation on the TOC’s LAN then picks up the message and processes it.
4 Each NTDR requires a signal from a GPS antenna so that all radios in the net can compute distances to each other. In A2C2S, one antenna is shared by JCIT and NTDR.
