NTDR
Description: The NTDR system is a brigade and below mobile packet radio network consisting of up to 400 Radios and a Network Management Terminal (NMT) to serve a 20 x 30 km area. In a TOC-to-TOC (only) mission, 117 operational radios are required to serve a division area. Network management will be performed by the NMT until the functions migrate to ISYSCON. Brigade networks will interoperate with other networks through back-to-back NTDRs or through routers in the Tactical Internet. The radios will interface with emerging ABCS automated systems. Limited procurement of the NTDR system was directed by the Army Acquisition Executive to explore the limits of near term technology and to provide a technical baseline for development of a multi-band, multi-mode digital radio system.
