MCS
Responsibility for the Maneuver Control System (MCS) product falls under Project Manager ATCCS/Product Manager MCS. It is one of the five primary components of the Army Tactical Command and Control System (ATCCS). It integrates maneuver functions with fire support, air defense, intelligence/ electronic warfare, and combat service support systems of the ATCCS. It is the Army's force level commander's maneuver control information system. The MCS is a hybrid system consisting of MILSPEC and ruggedized commercial equipment that provides support to maneuver commanders from corps down to the battalion level. The MCS plans, coordinates, and controls current operations, and develops and distributes plans, orders, and estimates in support of future operations. It is designed to assist the commander and his staff by providing information on his own forces, enemy forces, and the battlefield characteristics. MCS provides this battlefield information by collecting, processing, and displaying data generated within the air/land combat environment. Using the features of the system, the commander can improve the timeliness of his decisions and allocation of his resources
