AN/ALQ-153 Missile Warning System
The AN/ALQ-153 Missile Warning System is a solid-state pulse Doppler radar used to detect missile threats. This Northrop-Grumman Electronic
Sensors and Systems Division [Westinghouse] tail warning radar is carried on the B-1B and the B-52H heavy bombers. Aircraft equipped with this self-protection system were able to penetrate high-density Iraqi radar defenses to attack military targets during the Gulf War.
