GENERAL:
The AN/APR-39A(V)1 Radar Signal Detecting Set is an upgraded version of the AN/APR-39(V)1 system. It utilizes a digital processor, alphanumeric display and a synthetic voice to provide warning of radar directed air defense threat systems.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
The AN/APR-39A(V)1 was designed to be compatible with aircraft provisioned for the AN/APR-39(V)1 system. Some minor aircraft wiring changes are required on selected aircraft. The system has ten line replaceable units consisting of one control unit, one indicator, one processor, two identical receivers, two left spiral antennas, two right spiral antennas and one blade antenna. The total system weight is 16.2 pounds.
THREAT COVERAGE:
This system has a greater threat detection capability than the AN/APR-39(V)1 system. The threat display is changed to alphanumeric as opposed to the strobe in the AN/APR-39(V)1 system. Synthetic voice warning and alphanumeric display symbols occur simultaneously.
AIRCRAFT APPLICABILITY:
AH-1F, AH-64A/D, CH-47D, MH-47E, UH-60A/L, UH-60Q (MEDEVAC), MH-60K, OH-58C/D
SPECIAL TEST EQUIPMENT:
SM-674A/UPM | Simulator (AVUM/AVIM) |
