Notes:
COMMUNICATIONS REQUIREMENTS - Continued 2
External Communications have been talked around up to this point. The C/S will be communicating with other sources via external communication paths such as: AFMSS, Range Tracking, Flight Test Telemetry, Local Area Network, Wide Area Networks and the Internet.
Antennas are a part of the C/S also. The antenna needs identified so far are for VHF/UHF voice radios, SATCOM, IFF Interrogator and receiver, Command Data Link Radio (most likely VHF/UHF), Control Data Link Radio (again most likely UHF), GPS and Wide band TV (also VHF/UHF) Likewise, a complimentary antenna set will be on the UCAV(s).
The anticipated external video sources not from the vehicle are assumed to be via closed circuit TV (cable). There will also be the need to control functions on these remote cameras such as position (azimuth/elevation and zoom).
Again, the openness of the C/S architecture and the ease that new systems can be added will considered a big advantage.
