During the FATE contract five technologies were investigated. Each technology made incremental improvements toward the FWV goals. Initial improvements of the technologies were qualitatively assessed to determine their impact or contribution to meeting the FWV goals. Further indepth studies were conducted. Although some technologies may appear to have a negative impact on meeting the FWV goals, they were later shown to have an overall positive impact that outweigh any decrements.
