Notes:
Data from a recent low-speed wind tunnel tests conducted during the Innovative Control Effectors (ICE) program show that the all-moving wing tip provides substantial yawing moments through 90 deg AOA. The magnitude of the yaw power available is sufficient to provide Level 1 flying qualities to this vehicle. The high-AOA directional control power available is superior to that available from vertical tail/rudder controls, which greatly improves agility levels. Together with multiaxis thrust vectoring, innovative controls can provide tailless airplanes with full envelope control, including unparalleled high-AOA agility.
