Notes:
SLIDE 18: Service Life: Our CSAR fleet is aging. Our oldest H-60s are old enough to vote; our oldest HC-130s are old enough to have children old enough to vote.
This hurts readiness in two ways: Reliability and performance margin. The H-60 is nearing its service life and will increasingly require major maintenance simply to keep flying.
The C-130s still have 20+ years of structural life remaining, but they are rusting instead of burning out. Their major problem is obsolescence. It too must undergo a major overhaul -- or replacement -- or it will see its performance margin become deficits.
