Watch Rotation At Sea

• 3 Section Rotation. 4 hours on and 8 hours off unless there is a shortage of qualified watchstanders or heat stress situation.

  • Will also see 5 and 10 or ‘nickle and dime’

• “Port and Starboard.” watchstanding which is usually conducted as 6 hours on and 6 hours off.

  • Obviously, a very taxing rotation
