Notes:
Computer Control - if magnetometer fails, will automatically transfer
- uses navigation link to obtain necessary ship position input data
- this info (lat/long, heading, roll, pitch) used by the computer to compensate for geographic magnetic variations.
- utilizes stored values for the magnetic readings for the geographic area ( magnetic maps).
- not a notable degradation
- won’t compensate for a local magnetic anomoly.
- big degradation is reliability
Manual Control - shifts to manual if both automatic control methods lost.
