(2) CONDUCTS CONTINUOUS AND PROLONGED COMBAT OPERATIONS UNDER ALL CONDITIONS. (3) EXECUTES MOVEMENT TO CONTACT, HASTY AND DELIBERATE ATTACKS, EXPLOITATIONS, AND PURSUIT. (4) DEPLOYS OVER GREAT DISTANCES AND CONCENTRATES RAPIDLY FROM WIDELY SEPARATE AREAS. (5) MANEUVERS TO EXPLOIT THE EFFECTS OF NUCLEAR AND CHEMICAL FIRES. (6) CONDUCTS RETROGRADE OPERATIONS. (7) ACTS AS A COVERING FORCE IN OFFENSIVE, DEFENSIVE, AND RETROGRADE OPERATIONS. (8) CONDUCTS DEFENSIVE OPERATIONS. (9) PROVIDES ORGANIC AIR DEFENSE AGAINST LOW ALTITUDE HOSTILE AIRCRAFT. (10) PARTICIPATES IN JOINT AND COMBINED OPERATIONS AND, WITH APPROPRIATE AUGMENTATION, SERVES AS AN ARMY FORCES (ARFOR) HEADQUARTERS. B. (2) MOBILITY IS RESTRICTED BY JUNGLE, DENSE FOREST, STEEP, RUGGED TERRAIN, AND MAJOR WATER OBSTACLES. (3) HEAVY LOGISTIC SUPPORT IS REQUIRED TO INCLUDE RAIL OR HIGHWAY TRANSPORT OF TRACK VEHICLES FOR LONG ADMINISTRATIVE MOVES. 4. BASIS OF ALLOCATION.
