2.  MISSION/CAPABILITIES/SECTION I.

    operations of the brigade and attached units.

1.  MISSION.  THE HEADQUARTERS PROVIDES COMMAND, CONTROL, AND

LOGISTICAL SUPPORT FOR THE BRIGADE STAFF SECTIONS.

2.  ASSIGNMENT.  ORGANIC TO A LIGHT INFANTRY DIVISION, TOE
77000L000.

3.  CAPABILITIES.

    A.  AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT:

        (1)  COMMANDS ATTACHED ELEMENTS OF THE DIVISION'S
COMBAT AND COMBAT SUPPORT ELEMENTS IN OFFENSIVE AND
DEFENSIVE OPERATIONS.

        (2)  SUPERVISES THE MOVEMENT AND SECURITY OF ATTACHED
SUPPORTING ADMINISTRATIVE ELEMENTS.

        (3)  WHEN DESIGNATED, ACTS AS EMERGENCY SUCCESSOR
OPERATIONAL HEADQUARTERS FOR THE DIVISION IN EVENT OF THE
DESTRUCTION OR NEUTRALIZATION OF DIVISION COMMAND AND CONTROL
CAPABILITIES.

        (4)  PROVIDES OPERATIONAL CONTROL FOR UP TO 5 MANEUVER
BATTALIONS.

    A.  THIS UNIT IS CAPABLE OF TRANSPORTING 173,000 POUNDS
(10,406.0 CUBIC FEET) OF TOE EQUIPMENT WITH ORGANIC VEHICLES.

    B.  THIS UNIT HAS 61,687 POUNDS (5,525.4 CUBIC FEET) OF TO
EQUIPMENT REQUIRING TRANSPORTATION.

    C.  THIS UNIT REQUIRES 100 PERCENT OF ITS TOE EQUIPMENT AN
SUPPLIES TO BE TRANSPORTED IN A SINGLE LIFT USING ITS

1. GENERAL.

   a. References.

   b. Purpose and authority for the preparation and revisions of
Table(s) of Organization and Equipment (TOE).

      (1) Cyclic review.

      (2) TOE 77042C000 revises 77042L000 HHC, LID BDE.  This TOE
is undergoing cyclic review to incorporate current doctrinal
concepts and changes, and update MARC driven positions.

      (3) This version of the TOE has been prepared in accordance
with the provisions of current TOE development regulations and
guidance.

      (4)  All equipment readiness codes (ERCs) in this TOE have
been reviewed to ensure strict compliance with criteria in
AR 220-1, Unit Status Reporting.

      (5) The unit MARC Code is 21A . This is a combat support
unit that operates in the  division  area. It is considered an
operational unit which moves frequently.

2. EMPLOYMENT.  The HHC, LID BDE consists of the Brigade
Headquarters and the Headquarters Company. The tactical
disposition diagram represents worse case battlefield disposition
during a normal defense scenario

   a.  The brigade headquarters provides command and control over
units attached to or supporting the brigade.  It is divided into
three operational areas:  the tactical command post (TAC CP), the
main Command Post(CP)and the brigade rear CP.

       (1)  The TAC CP is located in the maneuver battalion vicinity.
It consists of S2 and S3 representatives, and the command section,
when necessary.

       (2)  The main CP contains portions of the command, S2, S3,
S4 and communications sections, and representatives from
supporting and subordinate units.


       (3) The rear CP consists of the S1 Section, Unit Ministry
Team, and portions of the S4 and communications sections.  The
communication element at this location ensures connectivity to the
division signal center.

   b.  The Headquarters Company/LSA is adjacent to the brigade main
CP.  It consists of the company headquarters, maintenance section,
and food service section.

3. METHODS OF OPERATIONS AND FUNCTIONS.

   a. PARAGRAPH 01,  TACTICAL CP.

    (1) Functions.  The TAC CP disseminates the commander's
decisions and exercises command and control (C2) concerning current
operations.  Through continuous close supervision of those
operations, the TAC CP keeps the commander and staff abreast of the
tactical situation.  In addition, the TAC CP serves as the Alternate
Net Control Station (ANCS)for the Cmd/Ops, Tac Ops and Intel Nets.
