1.  PURPOSE. The attached represents a cyclic review of the Brigade
HHC Air Assault.  This TOE has been updated to reflect the latest
OPFAC rules and HQDA guidance.  This effort includes the base TOE
(BTOE) and the objective TOE (OTOE).  HQDA constraints have not
changed from that which guided development of current DA approved
TOE.

    e.  Major Changes.  The principal revision reflected in this
review is the addition of a separate paragraph (01) for the
tactical command post (TAC CP).  This document format reflects
the minimum required displacement of personnel and equipment for
the Brigade TAC CP.

        (1)   New MARC figures have been applied to this TOE and
the radios have been reconfigured based on the lastest approved
OPFAC rules.

        (2)  The new MARC food service formula calculations using the
four digit MARC code resulted in the reduction of one position in
food service personnel.

    2.  MISSION/CAPABILITIES/SECTION I.

     a.  The HHC, Air Assault Brigade provides personnel and
equipment to support the functional requirements of the brigade
headquarters.

     b. Provides command, control, and supervision of the tactical
operations of the Air Assault Brigade and attached units.  The
Headquarters Company provides unit administration and logistical
support for the Brigade Staff sections.

    c.  See TOE Section 1 for a complete list of capabilities and
limitations of this organization and its subordinate units.

3.  ASSIGNMENT.  Organic to the Air Assault Division, TOE 67000L000.

4.  PERSONNEL.

development of these TOEs and are reflected in the  Cost Analysis
Summaries.

    d.  The difference in cost are primarily due to the
modernization of equipment from the BTOE to the OTOE.

   1.  MISSION.  THE HEADQUARTERS PROVIDES COMMAND, CONTROL
   AND SUPERVISION OF THE OPERATION OF THE BRIGADE AND
   ATTACHED UNITS.  THE HEADQUARTERS COMPANY PROVIDES
   OPERATING PERSONNEL TO SUPPORT FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
   FOR THE HEADQUARTERS.

   2.  ASSIGNMENT.  ORGANIC TO THE AIR ASSAULT DIVISION,
   TOE 67000L.

   3.  CAPABILITIES.

       A.  AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT PROVIDES:

           (1)  COMMAND, CONTROL, STAFF PLANNING, AND
   SUPERVISION OF THE ATTACHED ELEMENTS OF THE DIVISION'S
   COMBAT AND COMBAT SUPPORT ELEMENTS IN OFFENSIVE AND
   DEFENSIVE COMBAT OPERATIONS.

           (2)  MAY BE DESIGNATED TO ACT AS EMERGENCY
   SUCCESSOR OPERATIONAL HEADQUARTERS FOR THE DIVISION
   IN EVENT OF THE DESTRUCTION OR NEUTRALIZATION OF
   DIVISION COMMAND AND CONTROL CAPABILITIES.

           (3)  PROVIDES OPERATIONAL CONTROL OF UP TO FIVE
   MANEUVER BATTALIONS ON A SUSTAINED BASIS.  CAN CONTROL
   UP TO SEVEN MANEUVER BATTALIONS FOR A PERIOD NOT TO
   EXCEED 24 HOURS.

       B.  THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE
   FOR REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10%
   FROM APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2 TO APPROXIMATELY 80%
   FOR LEVEL 3.

       C.  THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO A TYPE B
   ORGANIZATION.

       D.  THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVELS 1 THROUGH 3 ARE
   DESIGNED TO RELATE TO THE CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED BY AR
   220-1, UNIT STATUS REPORTING.

       G.  THIS UNIT IS DEPENDENT ON APPROPRIATE ELEMENTS OF
   THE CORPS FOR HEALTH SERIVCES, LEGAL, AVIATION, FINANCE,
   PERSONNEL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES.

   4.  BASIS OF ALLOCATION.  THREE OER AIR ASSAULT DIVISION,
   TOE 67000L000.

   5.  CATEGORY.  THIS UNIT IS DESIGNATED A CATEGORY I UNIT.

   6.  MOBILITY.

       A.  THIS UNIT IS CAPABLE OF TRANSPORTING 2,500
   POUNDS (104 CUBIC FEET) OF TOE EQUIPMENT WITH ORGANIC
   VEHICLES.

       B.  THIS UNIT HAS 2,234 POUNDS (83 CUBIC FEET)
   OF EQUIPMENT REQUIRING TRANSPORTATION.

       C.  THIS UNIT REQUIRES 100 PERCENT OF ITS TOE EQUIPMENT
   AND SUPPLIES TO BE TRANSPORTED IN A SINGLE LIFT USING ITS

1.  GENERAL.

    b.  Purpose and authority for the preparation and revisions
of Table(s) of Organization and Equipment (TOE).

        (1)  This Base TOE is the result of a cyclic review of
the current HQDA approved L-edition of the HHC, Ari Assault
Brigade (TOE7062L700).  It incorporates doctrinal changes,
revised equipment authorizations, and revised manpower
requirements criteria.

        (2) All Equipment Readiness Codes (ERC) in the TOE comply
with the criteria in AR 220-1, Unit Status Reporting. The ERC are
aligned at the paragraph level of detail.

        (3) This version of the TOE is prepared in accordance with
the provisions of current TOE development regulations and guidance.

        (4) The unit MARC Code is 21A.  This is a combat unit that
operates in  the division area.  It is considered a one unit base
for security purposes and moves once every three days or less.

2.  EMPLOYMENT.  The brigade headquarters is employed as a
tactical and administrative command and control headquarters.
It is located well forward in the division area to provide for
the most effective command and control of up to five maneuver
battalions on a substained basis, commensurate with the terrain,
combat mission, and responsiveness to division headquarters.  The
Headquarters Company is employed with or near the main Command
Post (CP) to provide effective administrative and logistical
support to the headquarters staff.  Certain elements of the
brigade Rear CP, in the brigade (S1/S4/Chaplain) are normally
located at the brigade Rear CP, in the brigade support area,
colocated with the forward support unit provided by DISCOM.

3.  METHODS OF OPERATIONS AND FUNCTIONS.

    a.  PARAGRAPH 01, COMMAND SECTION.

        (1)  Functions. Provides the brigade with the supervision,
command and control required to conduct unit operations.  The
brigade commander is assisted by the executive officer, command
sergeant major, special staff (S2, S2, S3, S4), C-E Officer,
Chaplain, and a vehicle driver.

on a 24-hour basis and to present an evaluation assessment and

five intelligence analysts, an administrative clerk and vehicle
driver.

S3 is assisted by a Liaison Officer, an Assistant S3 Officer,
the brigade Chemical Officer, two operations sergeants/
assistants, an NBC Staff NCO, radio operatior-maintainers and
other enlisted personnel.

administrative clerk who assists in logistic support and property
accounting for the brigade.

     (1) Functions.  Performs unit level maintenance support
for the wheeled vehicles and power generating equipment in
the HHC.  The section is supervised by a motor sergeant who
is assisted by two light wheel vehicle mechanics, a power-
generator equipment repairer, a recovery vehicle operator,
two equipment rec/parts specialists, and a petroleum light
vehicle operator.
