DIVISION.  THIS TOE MODERNIZES AN ADA BATTALION FROM A MANUAL SHORAD
CONTROL SYSTEM (MSCS) TO GROUND BASED SENSORS (GBS).  IT HAS BEEN
PREPARED WITHIN CONSTRAINTS AND APPLIES CONCEPT CHANGES, MANPOWER
REQUIREMENTS, ESTABLISHED TOE DEVELOPMENT PROCEDURES, AND REGULATORY
GUIDELINES.

1.  MISSION.  TO PROVIDE AIR DEFENSE FOR FORWARD COMBAT ELEMENTS, AREAS, OR INSTALLATIONS AGAINST UAV/RPV AND FIXED OR ROTAR
WING AIRCRAFT.

2.  ASSIGNMENT.  ORGANIC TO THE HEAVY DIVISION, TOE 87000A.

3.  CAPABILITIES.

    A.  AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT PROVIDES:

        (1)  COMMAND, CONTROL, STAFF PLANNING, AND SUPERVISION OF THE OPERATIONS OF THE BATTALION.

        (2)  AIR DEFENSE COORDINATION SECTION ELEMENTS TO THREE DIVISIONAL BRIGADES AND ANY HIGH OR MEDIUM AIR DEFENSE
ARTILLERY BATTALION OR CORPS AIR DEFENSE ARTILLERY BRIGADE.

        (3)  AIR DEFENSE COORDINATION SECTION PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT TO AUGMENT THE DIVISION ARMY AIRSPACE COMMAND AND
CONTROL (A2C2) ELEMENT.

        (4)  AN AIR DEFENSE ARTILLERY TACTICAL OPERATIONS SECTION TO PROVIDE AIR DEFENSE COMMAND AND CONTROL INFORMATION TO
SUPPORTED UNITS AND EARLY WARNING INFORMATION TO UNITS IN THE DIVISION.

        (5)  UNIT ADMINISTRATION, RELIGIOUS SUPPORT, FOOD SERVICE, WHEELED VEHICLE RECOVERY, AND COMMUNICATIONS AND COMSEC
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE FOR UNITS OF THE BATTALION.

    B.  THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE FOR REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10%, FROM
APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2, TO APPROXIMATELY 80% FOR LEVEL 3.

    C.  THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO A TYPE B ORGANIZATION.

    D.  THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVEL 1 THROUGH 3 ARE DESIGNED TO RELATE TO THE CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED IN AR 220-1, UNIT
STATUS REPORTING.

PERSONNEL AND AMINISTRATIVE SERVICES, AND EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION.

         (1)  THIS UNIT IS CAPABLE OF TRANSPORTING 746,820 POUNDS
(48,327.0 CUBIC FEET) OF TOE EQUIPMENT WITH ORGANIC VEHICLES.

         (2)  THIS UNIT HAS 410,139 POUNDS (40,954.0 CUBIC FEET) OF TOE
EQUIPMENT REQUIRING TRANSPORTATION.


    B.  SRC 44175A100.

         (1)  THIS UNIT IS CAPABLE OF TRANSPORTING 761,120 POUNDS
(49,406.0 CUBIC FEET) OF TOE EQUIPMENT WITH ORGANIC VEHICLES.

         (2)  THIS UNIT HAS 392,086 POUNDS (38,582.0 CUBIC FEET) OF TOE
EQUIPMENT REQUIRING TRANSPORTATION.


    C.  THIS UNIT REQUIRES 100 PERCENT OF ITS TOE EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES TO BE TRANSPORTED IN A SINGLE LIFT USING ITS
