   1.  MISSION.  CONDUCTS SIGNALS INTELLIGENCE (SIGINT)
   OPERATIONS AS THE ARMY COMPONENT OF A JOINTLY
   STAFFED FIELD STATION; PROVIDES NATIONAL-
   TACTICAL SIGINT INTEGRATION TO SUPPORT ASSIGNED AND/OR
   DEPLOYING U.S. FORCES; PROVIDES UNIT ADMINISTRATION FOR
   ATTACHED UNITS.

   2.  ASSIGNMENT.  TO AN MI BRIGADE (EAC) (TOE 34602A500),
   OR AS REQUIRED.

   3.  CAPABILITIES.

       A.  AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT PROVIDES: STAFF PLANNING,
   COMMAND, CONTROL AND SUPERVISION OF THE OPERATION OF
   ASSIGNED UNITS.

       B.  THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE
   FOR REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10%,
   FROM APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2 TO APPROXIMATELY 80%
   FOR LEVEL 3.

       C.  THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO A TYPE B
   ORGANIZATION.

       D.  THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVEL 1 THROUGH 3 ARE
   DESIGNED TO RELATE TO THE CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED BY AR
   220-1, UNIT STATUS REPORTING.

       E.  INDIVIDUALS OF THIS ORGANIZATION CAN ASSIST IN THE
   COORDINATED DEFENSE OF THE UNIT'S AREA OR INSTALLATION.

       F.  THIS UNIT IS DEPENDENT ON:  APPROPRIATE ELEMENTS OF
   FORCE PROJECTION BRIGADE WEST, TOE 34702A100 FOR COMBAT
   HEALTH SERVICES, LEGAL, FINANCIAL, RELIGIOUS, SUPPLEMENTAL
   TRANSPORTATION, PERSONNEL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES.

   4.  BASIS OF ALLOCATION.  ONE PER MI BDE (EAC), OR AS
   REQUIRED.

   5.  CATEGORY.  THIS UNIT IS DESIGNATED A CATEGORY III

   6.  MOBILITY.

       A.  THIS UNIT IS NOT CAPABLE OF TRANSPORTING
   ANY TOE EQUIPMENT WITH ORGANIC VEHICLES.

2.  MISSION/CAPABILITIES/SECTION I.

    a.  Provides command and control for assigned and attached
U.S. Army Echelon Above Corps IEW units and conducts IEW
operations in support of National, Combined, Joint Task Force and
theater army.

    b.  Provides staff planning for and supervision of IEW
operations for assigned and attached IEW units.

    c.  See TOE Section 1 for a complete list of capabilities and
limitations of this organization and its subordinate units.

required.

converting from a TDA unit to TOE unit with no increase of

    b.  Purpose and authority for the preparation and revisions of
Table(s) of Organization and Equipment (TOE).

        (1)  This TOE creates the A series modular TOE based on
 VCSA guidance (December, 1996) and Army concept changes.

        (2)  This version of the TOE has been prepared in accordance
with the provisions of current TOE development regulations and
guidance.

        (3)  All equipment readiness codes (ERCs) in this TOE have
been reviewed to ensure strict compliance with criteria in AR 220-1,
Unit Status Reporting.  They also have been reviewed to ensure they
are aligned at the paragraph level of detail.

        (4)  The unit MARC Code is 23B.  This is a combat support
unit that operates in the Army Land Component area.

2.  EMPLOYMENT. The SIGINT Detachment will be forward deployed in
the theater of operations where it will provide command and control
over Army SIGINT operations and staff functions.  This unit
operates as the Army component of a Jointly staffed Field Station.

3.  METHODS OF OPERATIONS AND FUNCTIONS.

    a.  PARAGRAPH 01, SIGINT Detachment.

        (1)  Functions.  Provides command, control, and staff
planning for intelligence and electronic warfare (IEW) operations.
