update for the Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA) -
approved military police company airborne division,  L-edition
table of organization and equipment (LTOE).  This document was
developed to ensure the document reflects the latest doctrine
and validates the requirements for personnel and equipment.

2.  MISSION/CAPABILITIES/SECTION I.

    1.  MISSION.  To conduct maneuver and mobility support
    operations,of peronnel, material and equipment: execute
    limited area security operations, conduct
    internment/resettlement operations, perform law and order
    operations along with police intelligence operations
    in assigned areas as required.

        2.  ASSIGNMENT.  Organic to an airborne division, TOE 57000L.

        3.  CAPABILITIES.

    A.  AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING:

        (1)  A PROVOST MARSHAL OPERATIONS SECTION TO EXERCISE
OPERATIONAL CONTROL OVER ASSIGNED AND ATTACHED MILITARY POLICE
(MP) UNITS AND TO COORDINATE AND ADVISE ON JOINT, MULTINATIONAL
AND INTERAGENCY FORCE PROTECTION OPERATIONS.

        (2)  MANEUVER AND MOBILITY SUPPORT TO EXPIDITE MOVEMENT
VEHICULAR TRAFFIC AND INDIVIDUALS IN THE DIVISION AREA.

        (3)  AREA SECURITY, RECONNAISSANCE, AND RESPONSE FORCE
CAPABILTY. AREA AND ROUTE RECONNAISSANCE IN CONJUNCTION WITH
MOBILE PATROLS.

        (4)  ONE ENEMY PRISONER OF WAR (EPW)/CIVILIAN INTERNEE
COLLECTING POINT WITHIN THE DIVISION REAR AREA.

        (5)  BATTLEFIELD LAW AND ORDER OPERATIONS.

        (6)  TEMPORARY DETENTION OF U.S. PRISONERS.

        (7)  SUPPORT CRIMINAL INTELLIGENCE AND HUMAN

6.  MOBILITY.

    A.  THIS UNIT IS CAPABLE OF TRANSPORTING 47,400 POUNDS
(3,327 CUBIC FEET) OF TOE EQUIPMENT WITH ORGANIC VEHICLES.

    B.  THIS UNIT HAS 40,200 POUNDS (3,327 CUBIC FEET) OF TOE
EQUIPMENT REQUIRING TRANSPORTATION.

    C.  THIS UNIT REQUIRES 100 PERCENT OF ITS TOE EQUIPMENT

    b.  Purpose and authority for the preparation and revisions of
Table(s) of Organization and Equipment (TOE).

        (1)  This TOE is a cyclic review update.

        (2)  This revision incorpates concept changes, applies
updated MARC,and applies incremental TOE development procedures.

        (3)  This version of the TOE has been prepared in accordance
with the provisions of current TOE development regulations and
guidance.

        (4)  All equipment readiness codes (ERCs) in this TOE have
been reviewed to ensure strict compliance with criteria in AR 220-1,
Unit Status Reporting.  They also have been reviewed to ensure they
are aligned at the paragraph level of detail.

        (5)  The unit MARC Code is 21A.  This is a combat support
unit that operates in the division area. It is considered a mobile
unit and moves.

2.  EMPLOYMENT.
    a.  This MP company is designed to provide flexible, tailored
combat support to the division by using MP to enhance maneuver
and mobility,conduct area security in support of force protection;
perform internment/resstlement operations; and police intelligence
operations. It can bring significant combat power to bear against
rear area operational exigencies. It can support requirements in
the Operations Other Than War (OOTW) arena as well. This MP company
is structured to provide four platoons in support of the division.
MP teams are distributed along the main supply route (MSR) to
perform independent sustained operations across the division area.

    b.   The divisional MP platoon is assigned an area
of operations to perform Maneuver and Mobility Support (MMS) and
area security missions.  Platoon elements performing MMS and
area combat operations may be placed under the operational
control of another platoon to meet tactical requirements in
another platoon's area of operations.  Divisional MP platoons
also provide MP teams to perform Internment and Resettlement
(I/R) operations. MP teams can also be employed to augment security
of the division main command post and tac cp's; to provide security
to the all source production section; and to operate the division
internment and resettlement collecting points.   Divisional MP
platoons may support each forward deployed brigade.  These platoons
will perform MP missions as prioritized by the brigade commander.
This support will normally consist of maneuver and mobility,
internment and resettlement support, police intelligence
support and force protection combat operations as required.
Resources are not sufficient to accomplish all assigned missions
simultaneously.

    c.  Within the provisions of Department of Defense policy and
controlling laws deploys in support of counter-drug operations (to
include border screening, marijuana eradication, customs
augmentation and training).

3.  METHODS OF OPERATIONS AND FUNCTIONS.

    a.  PARAGRAPH 01, Division Provost Marshal Operations Section.

        (1)  Functions.  Provides the staff planning, direction,
supervision, and coordination of military police combat support to
the Airborne Division.

        (2)  Personnel requirements not covered by regulatory

Provost Marshal (LTC, MOS 31A).    The provost marshal (PM) is a
                                   special staff officer of the
           division commander.  He is responsible to the division
           commander for all MP support and exercises operational
           control over MP units assigned, attached or in support
           of the Airborne Division. He is provided with a HMMWV with
           AN/VRC-89D and MSRT AN/VRC97 and TA1042A.

Deputy Division PM (MAJ, 31A).  Coordinates and plans with
                                   division staff officers for
           traffic control and expeditious movement of personnel
           and materiel.  Coordinates with the corps military
           police elements for augmentation support of operations
           in the division. Assists the division PM in
           establishing and maintaining proper liaison with
           adjacent Army, joint, multinational and interagency
           force protection operations. He assists in the
           preparation of the instruction and conduct
           of training in the MP company.


Operations NCO (E9, 95B).  Responsible for establishing
                                      and maintaining
           administrative records, reports, and documentation for
           military police operations in the division. Identifies
           and prioritizes critical facilities and logistical bases
           to be defended and coordinates base and base cluster
           defense plans. Uses HMMWV with AN/VRC-89D & AN/GRC-213,
           AN PSC-5 which serves as net control station for
           the company net.

Operations NCO (E8, 95B).          Responsible for establishing and
                                   maintaining administrative
            records, reports, and documentation for military police
            operations in the division. Identifies and prioritizes
            critical facilities and logistical bases to be defended
            and coordinates base and base cluster defense plans. Uses
            HMMWV with AN/VRC-89D & AN/GRC-213.

Aministrative Specialist (E3, MOS 71L)  Performs  essential
           administrative tasks in support of the PM Operations
           Section, including preparation of reports, daily staff
           journals, MP desk blotters, maintains files, prepares
           and types correspondence, forms, operation orders, plans,
           messages, and logs entries, and operates radio
           and vehicle as required.

Driver/Radio Operator   (E3, MOS 95B).   Operates the Provost
                                 Marshal's vehicle and radio.

when providing direct support to the brigades.

protection; police intelligence operations and provide security as
required to internment/resettlment operations. Each squad consists
of a squad leader assisted by a team leader and 4 MPs.
