   SURVEILLANCE WITHIN THE DIVISION'S AREA OF OPERATIONS.

           (2)  A POSITIVE COMMAND LINK BETWEEN THE DIVISION/
   BRIGADE COMMANDERS AND SUBORDINATE ELEMENTS.

           (3)  LINES OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ASSISTANCE IN
   TROOP MOVEMENT WITHIN AND THROUGHOUT THE DIVISION'S AREA OF
   OPERATIONS.

           (4)  SURVEILLANCE AND RECONNAISSANCE TO FACILITATE
   THE REAR BATTLE.

           (5)  SCREENING OPERATIONS.

       B.  THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE
   FOR REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF
   10% FROM APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2 TO APPROXIMATELY 80%
   FOR LEVEL 3.
