INSTALLS, OPERATES, AND MAINTAINS A COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM IN SUPPORT OF DIVISION LEVEL FUNCTION INCLUDING COMMAND, CONTROL, INTELLIGENCE, FIRE CONTROL, COMBAT SUPPORT AND COMBAT SERVICE SUPPORT. 2. ASSIGNMENT. ORGANIC TO A HEAVY DIVISION, TOE 87000L, AND THE INFANTRY DIVISION, TOE 37000L. 3. CAPABILITIES. A. AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT PROVIDES: (1) A SIX NODE PORTION OF THE MSE SWITCHED SYSTEM. (2) A COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM PLANNING ELEMENT (CSPE), A COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM CONTROL ELEMENT (CSCE), AND AT EACH OF THE AREA SIGNAL NODES, A COMMUNICATIONS NODAL CONTROL ELEMENT (CNCE) FOR INTERNAL MANAGEMENT OF THE NODE. (3) A SYSTEM CONTROL MANAGEMENT CENTER (SCMC) AND A SYSTEM CONTROL TECHNICAL CENTER (SCTC) TO PROVIDE THE AUTOMATED TECHNICAL AND MANAGERIAL CONTROL FOR MSE ASSEMBLAGES. (4) ONE NET RADIO INTERFACE (NRI) AT EACH NODE TO BE DEPLOYED WITH ONE OF THE SMALL EXTENSION SWITCHES (SES). (5) THREE FM RETRANS TEAMS TO PROVIDE RETRANS FOR THE DIVISION LEVEL FM NETS. (6) SWITCHING FACILITIES TO PROVIDE MOBILE/WIRE ACCESS, AND INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL INTERFACE WITH THE AREA COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM. B. THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE FOR REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10% FROM APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2; AND TO APPROXIMATELY 80 FOR LEVEL 3. WHEN ORGANIZED AT LEVEL 3, THE FOLLOWING FACILITIES ARE NOT OPERATED: TWO SMALL EXTENSION SWITCHES, THREE LOS RADIOS, ONE RADIO ACCESS UNIT, AND ONE FM RETRANS MISSION STATION. C. THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO A TYPE B ORGANIZATION D. THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVELS 1 THROUGH 3 ARE DESIGNED TO RELATE TO CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED BY AR 220-1, UNIT STATUS REPORTING. E. INDIVIDUALS OF THIS ORGANIZATION CAN ASSIST IN THE COORDINATED DEFENSE OF THE UNIT'S AREA OR INSTALLATION. F. THIS UNIT PERFORMS UNIT MAINTENANCE ON ORGANIC EQUIPMENT, AND DIRECT SUPPORT (DS) MAINTENANCE ON COMMUNICATIONS-ELECTRONICS AND COMSEC EQUIPMENT IN THE BATTALION. G. THIS UNIT IS DEPENDENT ON APPROPRIATE ELEMENTS OF THE DIVISION OR CORPS FOR PERSONNEL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES, FINANCE, UNIT LEVEL HEALTH SERVICES, RELIGIOUS AND LEGAL SUPPORT. 4. BASIS OF ALLOCATION. ONE PER HEAVY DIVISION, TOE 87000L; AND THE INFANTRY DIVISION, TOE 37000L. 5. CATEGORY. THIS UNIT IS DESIGNATED A CATEGORY II UNIT (AR 71-31). 6. MOBILITY.
