LOCATES THE ENEMY AND DESTROYS HIS FIGHTING CAPABILITY USING ALL AVAILABLE MEANS. CLOSING AS NECESSARY WITH THE ENEMY BY MEANS OF FIRE AND MANEUVER TO DESTROY OR CAPTURE HIM, OR TO REPEL HIS ASSAULT BY THE USE OF ALL AVAILABLE FIRE AND COUNTERATTACK. 2. ASSIGNMENT. ORGANIC TO AIR ASSAULT DIVISION, TOE 67. 3. CAPABILITIES. A. AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT: (1) PROVIDES BASE OF FIRE AND MANEUVER ELEMENTS. (2) SEIZES AND CONTROLS TERRAIN FOR LIMITED PERIODS OF TIME. (3) CONDUCTS INDEPENDENT OPERATIONS ON A LIMITED SCALE. (4) PROVIDES COMMUNICATIONS, INDIRECT FIRE SUPPORT, AND HEAVY ANTITANK FIRE FOR ORGANIC AND ATTACHED UNITS. (5) CONDUCTS PATROLLING OPERATIONS. (6) PARTICIPATES IN MOTORIZED OPERATIONS WHEN PROVIDED WITH SUFFICIENT TRANSPORTATION. (7) CONDUCTS FREQUENT AIRMOBILE ASSAULTS. (8) MANEUVERS IN ALL TYPES OF TERRAIN UNDER ALL CLIMATIC CONDITIONS. (9) PROVIDES ELEMENTS TO PERFORM ORGANIZATIONAL MAINTENANCE ON ORGANIC EQUIPMENT. (10) PROVIDES ADMINISTRATIVE AND LOGISTICAL SERVICES TO ORGANIC ELEMENTS. (11) PROVIDES ANTIARMOR PROTECTION. B. THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE FOR REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10%, FROM APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2 TO APPROXIMATELY 80% FOR LEVEL 3. C. THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO TYPE B ORGANIZATION. D. THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVEL 1 THROUGH 3 ARE DESIGNED TO RELATE TO THE CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED IN AR 220-1, UNIT STATUS REPORTING. E. INDIVIDUALS OF THIS ORGANIZATION, EXCEPT MEDICAL PERSONNEL, CAN ASSIST IN COORDINATED DEFENSE OF THE UNIT'S AREA OR INSTALLATION. F. THIS UNIT PERFORMS ORGANIZATIONAL MAINTENANCE ON ORGANIC EQUIPMENT EXCEPT COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY (COMSEC) EQUIPMENT. G. THIS UNIT IS DEPENDENT UPON: (1) APPROPRIATE ELEMENTS OF THE DIVISION OR CORPS FOR MEDICAL, FINANCE, LEGAL, RELIGIOUS, PERSONNEL, AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES AND COMSEC REPAIR. (2) US AIR FORCE TACTICAL AIR CONTROL PARTY (TACP) FOR DIRECTING TACTICAL AIR SUPPORT. (3) SUPPORTING ARTILLERY HEADQUARTERS AND HEADQUARTERS SERVICE BATTERY FOR FIRE SUPPORT TEAMS (FIST) TO PROVIDE OBSERVED FIRE SUPPORT AND FIRE COORDINATION SUPPORT. 4. BASIS OF ALLOCATION.
