TO INCREASE THE COMBAT EFFECTIVENESS OF THE HEAVY DIVISION BY ACCOMPLISHING MOBILITY, COUNTERMOBILITY, AND LIMITED SURVIVABILITY ENGINEERING TASKS AND TO FIGHT AS INFANTRY, WHEN REQUIRED. 2. ASSIGNMENT. ORGANIC TO AN ENGINEER BRIGADE, HEAVY DIVISION, TOE 05330L0. 3. CAPABILITIES. A. AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT: (1) PROVIDES ADVICE TO BRIGADE COMMANDERS AND STAFFS, AND ALL BRIGADE ELEMENT COMMANDERS AND STAFFS ON ENGINEER UNIT CAPABILITIES, ENGINEER UTILIZATION IN BRIGADE PLANS, AND COMBAT ENGINEERING IMPACTS ON BRIGADE OPERATIONS. (2) PLANS, COORDINATES, AND SUPERVISES STAFF ACTIVITIES OF ASSIGNED, ATTACHED, AND SUPPORTING ENGINEER UNITS ENGAGED IN MOBILITY, COUNTERMOBILITY, AND SURVIVABILITY FUNCTIONS. (3) PERFORMS EXPEDIENT REPAIR OF ESSENTIAL COMBAT TRAILS, BRIDGES, FORDS, AND ROADS IN THE BRIGADE AREA. (4) PROVIDES, EMPLACES, AND MAINTAINS ASSAULT BRIDGES TO SPAN TWELVE 60 FOOT GAPS SIMULTANEOUSLY. (5) PROVIDES ENGINEER SUPPORT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF OBSTACLES AND DEFENSIVE POSITIONS. (6) SUPPORTS COMBINED ARMS OBSTACLE BREACHING OPERATIONS. (7) PROVIDES TECHNICAL ADVICE, ASSISTANCE, AND TRAINING IN MINE WARFARE, FIELD FORTIFICATIONS, CAMOUFLAGE, DEMOLITIONS, AND ENGINEER RECONNAISSANCE. (8) PROVIDES ADVICE TO MANEUVER COMMANDERS ON EMPLOYMENT OF ALL SCATTERABLE MINES. (9) PROVIDES ENGINEER INFORMATION AND PROCESSES ENGINEER INTELLIGENCE. (10) WHEN REQUIRED, FIGHT AS INFANTRY IAW CHAPTER 6, FM 5-100, ENGINEER OPERATIONS (11) PROVIDES COMBAT SERVICE SUPPORT FOR ORGANIC AND ATTACHED UNITS INCLUDING MAINTENANCE, FOOD SERVICE, AND TRANSPORTATION OF FUEL AND MUNITIONS. (12) PROVIDES UNIT-LEVEL HEALTH SERVICE SUPPORT BY FURNISHING COMBAT MEDICAL AIDMEN TO THE ORGANIC ENGINEER COMPANIES. B. THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE FOR REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10%, FROM APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2 TO APPROXIMATELY 80% FOR LEVEL 3. C. THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO A TYPE B ORGANIZATION. D. THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVELS 1 THROUGH 3 ARE DESIGNED TO RELATE TO THE CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED BY AR 220-1, UNIT STATUS REPORTING. E. THIS UNIT IS DEPENDENT ON APPROPRIATE ELEMENTS OF THE DIVISION FOR RELIGIOUS, LEGAL, HEALTH SERVICE SUPPORT, FINANCE, PERSONNEL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES. F. THIS UNIT PERFORMS UNIT MAINTENANCE ON ALL ORGANIC EQUIPMENT, EXCEPT COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY (COMSEC) EQUIPMENT. G. THIS UNIT IS DEPENDENT ON APPROPRIATE ELEMENTS OF THE DIVISION OR CORPS FOR RELIGIOUS, LEGAL, HEALTH SERVICE SUPPORT, FINANCE, PERSONNEL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES. 4. BASIS OF ALLOCATION.
