TO INCREASE THE COMBAT EFFECTIVENESS OF THE INFANTRY DIVISION, LIGHT, BY ACCOMPLISHING MOBILITY, COUNTERMOBILITY, AND SURVIVABILITY MISSIONS. B. TO PERFORM INFANTRY COMBAT MISSIONS WHEN REQUIRED. 2. ASSIGNMENT. ORGANIC TO THE INFANTRY DIVISION, LIGHT, TOE 77000L000. 3. CAPABILITIES. A. AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT: (1) PROVIDES ADVICE TO THE DIVISION COMMANDER AND OTHER MANEUVER COMMANDERS ON ALL MATTERS CONCERNING THE PLANNING AND EXECUTION OF THE ENGINEER MISSIONS NEEDED TO SUPPORT DIVISIONS OPERATIONS. (2) PLANS, SUPERVISES AND COORDINATES ACTIVITIES OF ASSIGNED, ATTACHED AND SUPPORTING ENGINEER UNITS ENGAGED IN MOBILITY, COUNTERMOBILITY, SURVIVABILITY, SUSTAINMENT ENGINEERING, AND TOPOGRAPHIC TASKS. (3) PREPARES AND MAINTAINS ESSENTIAL COMBAT ROUTES IN THE FORWARD BATTLE AREA TO INCLUDE INGRESS AND EGRESS TO BLOCKING POSITIONS AND RIVER CROSSING SITES AND EXPEDIENT REPAIR OF ESSENTIAL BRIDGES, FORDS, AND CULVERTS. (4) ASSISTS IN THE ASSAULT OF FORTIFIED POSITIONS. (5) ASSISTS MANEUVER UNITS IN THE ASSAULT BREACH OF OBSTACLES AND MINEFIELDS. (6) PERFORMS LIMITED OBSTACLE AND MINEFIELD BREACHING OPERATIONS. (7) CONDUCTS ENGINEER RECONNAISSANCE AND PRODUCES ENGINEER INTELLIGENCE INFORMATION FOR THE DIVISION. (8) PROVIDES FIELD ENGINEERING ADVICE TO ALL DIVISIONAL ELEMENTS AND ASSISTANCE AND EQUIPMENT SUPPORT TO MANEUVER UNITS IN PREPARATION OF SELECTED STRONG POINTS AND FIGHTING POSITIONS FOR WEAPONS SYSTEMS. (9) EMPLACES AND ASSISTS IN THE MANUAL EMPLACEMENT OF MINES. (10) CREATES OTHER OBSTACLES TO DEGRADE ENEMY MOBILITY INCLUDING BERMS, DITCHES, ABATIS AND WIRE ENTANGLEMENTS. (11) PLANS, PREPARES AND EXECUTES DEMOLITION TARGETS SUCH AS THE DESTRUCTION OF BRIDGES AND THE CRATERING OF ROADS, RAILROADS AND AIRFIELD RUNWAYS. (12) CONDUCTS INFANTRY OPERATIONS WHEN REQUIRED. (13) PROVIDES LIMITED CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR OF FORWARD AREA LANDING STRIPS, HELIPADS, AND FORWARD AREA REFUEL AND REARMING POINTS. (14) PROVIDES COMPANY AIDMAN HEALTH SERVICES SUPPORT. B. THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE FOR REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10%, FROM APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2 TO APPROXIMATELY 80% FOR LEVEL 3. C. THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO A TYPE B ORGANIZATION. D. THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVELS 1 THROUGH 3 ARE DESIGNED TO RELATE TO THE CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED IN AR 220-1, UNIT STATUS REPORTING. E. INDIVIDUALS OF THIS ORGANIZATION, EXCEPT MEDICAL PERSONNEL, CAN ASSIST IN THE COORDINATED DEFENSE OF THE UNIT'S AREA OR INSTALLATION. F. THIS UNIT PERFORMS UNIT LEVEL MAINTENANCE ON ALL ORGANIC EQUIPMENT IN THE BATTALION. G. THIS UNIT IS DEPENDENT UPON: (1) DIVISION MEDICAL BATTALION, TOE 08045L000, FOR HEALTH SERVICES SUPPORT, EXCEPT AIDMEN. (2) HEADQUARTERS AND HEADQUARTERS COMPANY LIGHT INFANTRY DIVISION, TOE 77004L000 FOR CHAPLAIN SUPPORT. (3) APPROPRIATE ELEMENTS OF THE DIVISION OR CORPS FOR RELIGIOUS, LEGAL, FINANCE, PERSONNEL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES. (4) ECHELON ABOVE DIVISION (EAD) ENGINEER UNITS FOR SELECTED GENERAL ENGINEERING SUPPORT AND SPECIALIZED ENGINEER EQUIPMENT (I.E. COUNTERMINE, BRIDGING, ETC.) 4. BASIS OF ALLOCATION. ONE PER INFANTRY DIVISION, LIGHT, TOE 77000L000 REQUIREMENTS. 5. CATEGORY. THIS UNIT IS DESIGNATED A CATEGORY I UNIT. (FOR UNIT CATEGORIES, SEE AR 310-25.) 6. MOBILITY. A. THIS UNIT IS CAPABLE OF TRANSPORTING 650,500 POUNDS (8,502 CUBIC FEET) OF TOE EQUIPMENT WITH ORGANIC VEHICLES. B. THIS UNIT HAS 64,420 POUNDS (3,885 CUBIC FEET) OF TOE EQUIPMENT REQUIRING TRANSPORTATION. C.
