1.  MISSION.  TO PROVIDE NUCLEAR, BIOLOGICAL, AND CHEMICAL
(NBC) DECONTAMINATION AND/OR SMOKE SUPPORT TO A CORPS/THEATER
ARMY, AND/OR A DIVISION.

2.  ASSIGNMENT.  TO A CORPS OR EAC CHEMICAL BATTALION, TOE
03476L100/L200 OR TO A LIGHT INFANTRY DIVISION.

3.  CAPABILITIES.

    A.  AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT:

        (1)  OPERATES UP TO FOUR Thorough, OR EIGHT
OPERATIONAL, DECONTAMINATION SITES (ONE THOROUGH OR TWO
OPERATIONAL PER PLATOON).  EACH THOROUGH DECON SITE IS
CAPABLE OF DECONTAMINATING UP TO EIGHT TACTICAL VEHICLES PER
HOUR.

        (2)  PROVIDES A SMOKE HAZE OF UP TO 4 KILOMETERS IN
WIDTH AND SEVERAL KILOMETERS IN DEPTH, DEPENDING ON THE
WEATHER CONDITIONS.

        (3)  INDIVIDUAL PLATOONS ARE NOT CAPABLE OF
PERFORMING SIMULTANEOUS SMOKE AND DECONTAMINATION OPERATIONS.
HOWEVER, THE COMPANY CAN BE TAILORED TO RESPOND TO NEEDS FOR
BOTH SMOKE AND DECONTAMINATION SUPPORT.

    B.  THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE
FOR REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10%,
FROM APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2 TO APPROXIMATELY 80%
FOR LEVEL 3.

    C.  THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO TYPE B ORGANIZATION.

    D.  THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVEL 1 THROUGH 3 ARE
DESIGNED TO RELATE TO THE CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED IN AR
220-1, UNIT STATUS REPORTING.

    E.  INDIVIDUALS OF THIS ORGANIZATION CAN ENGAGE IN
EFFECTIVE COORDINATED DEFENSE OF THE UNIT'S AREA OR
INSTALLATION.

    F.  THIS UNIT PERFORMS UNIT MAINTENANCE ON ALL ORGANIC
EQUIPMENT.

    G.  THIS UNIT IS DEPENDENT UPON:

        (1)  THE SUPPORTED UNIT FOR TEN ADDITIONAL PERSONNEL
TO AUGMENT EACH EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION SITE.

        (2)  THE APPROPRIATE ELEMENTS OF THE CORPS OR EAC FOR
COMBAT HEALTH SERVICES, LEGAL, LOGISTICAL, FINANCIAL, AND
PERSONNEL AND ADMINISTATIVE SERVICES; HHD CHEMICAL
BATTALION FOR UNIT LEVEL RELIGIOUS SUPPORT.

4.  BASIS OF ALLOCATION.  ONE PER DIVISION, SIX PER CORPS,
FOUR PER THEATER ARMY, ONE PER USMC DIVISION, SIX PER USMC
MEF, ONE PER SEA PORT OF DEBARKATION (SPOD), ONE PER AERIAL
PORT OF DEBARKATION (APOD), AND ONE PER USAF AIRFIELD.

5.  CATEGORY.  THIS UNIT IS DESIGNATED A CATEGORY II UNIT.

6.  MOBILITY.

    A.  THIS UNIT IS CAPABLE OF TRANSPORTING 321,700
POUNDS (19,423 CUBIC FEET) OF TOE EQUIPMENT WITH ORGANIC
VEHICLES.

    B.  THIS UNIT HAS 67,958 POUNDS (5,890 CUBIC FEET) OF
TOE EQUIPMENT REQUIRING TRANSPORTATION.

    C.  THIS UNIT REQUIRES 100% OF ITS TOE EQUIPMENT AND
SUPPLIES BE TRANSPORTED IN A SINGLE LIFT USING AUTHORIZED
ORGANIC VEHICLES.  FM 3-101

    e.  Major Changes:

Changed radios to conform to OPFAC requirements, and updated
equipment requirements in accordance with latest regulatory and
other guidance.

2.  MISSION/CAPABILITIES/SECTION I.  See TOE Section 1 for a

    b.  MARC Deviations. One E4 52D10D4, Power Generator Equipment
Repairer.  The 52D10D4 repairs the M56 smoke generator which has a
turbine engine.  The M56 smoke generator is a unique piece of
equipment on the battlefield.  This unit is located in the Division
forward area back to the ports.  Because smoke is critical in
providing cover and concealment and there are so few assets on the
battlefield the unit must have an organic means to repair the M56.
DS maintenance can not provide the just in time maintenance rquired
to meet the needs on the battlefield.

    c.  The net force impact of this BTOE is an increase of
( +1 ) personnel.   0 Officer,  1 NCO, 0 Enlisted.

    d.  The risk resulting from decrements is.

    a.  Equipment reflected in this TOE represents the minimum
mission essential wartime requirements.

6.  COST.

    a.  Cost Analysis Summaries for each Objective TOE are
provided below.

    b.  Force structure information for each TOE is based on current
M force and e-date 9910.

    c.  The difference in cost is primarily due to revision of the
current L-edition and applying conceptual changes, Incremental
Change Packages (ICP), and updating Manpower Requirements (MARC).

    d.  HQDA approved commodity consumption rates were used in the
development of these TOEs.

1.  GENERAL.

    b.  Purpose and authority for the preparation and revisions of
Table(s) of Organization and Equipment (TOE).

        (1)  Cyclic Review to incorporate changes in equipment and
personnel to TOE.

        (2)  This version of the TOE has been prepared in accordance
with the provisions of current TOE development regulations and
guidance.

        (3)  All equipment readiness codes (ERCs) in this TOE have
been reviewed to ensure strict compliance with criteria in AR 220-1,
Unit Status Reporting.  They also have been reviewed to ensure they
are aligned at the paragraph level of detail.

        (4)  The unit MARC Code is 22A.  This is a Combat Support
unit that operates in the Division rear/CORPS/TA area.  It is
considered a mobile unit and moves frequently.

2.  EMPLOYMENT.  This company is employed by the CORPS/TA
Division to provide nuclear, biological, and chemical equipment
decontamination and/or smoke support. It is normally assigned to the
CORPS Chemical Bn, TOE 03476L100, EAC Chemical Bn, TOE 03476l200, or
to a Light Division.

3.  METHODS OF OPERATIONS AND FUNCTIONS.

    a.  PARAGRAPH 01, Company Headquarters.

        (1)  Functions.  Functions include command, control, and
mission support. The company may establish up to eight equipment
decontamination sites, each capable of decontaminating up to four
tactical vehicles per hour, or may provide smoke haze up to eight
kilometers in overall width, and several kilometers in depth.
Individual platoons are not capable of performing simultaneous smoke
and decon operations.

nucleus of a smoke line or Detailed Equipment Decontamination (DED)

width, and several kilometers in depth. Individual platoons are not

             (a) Squad Leader. Directs and supervises the overall
operations of the squad.
             (b) Chemical Operations NCO. Supervises and directs

Performs smoke and decon operations. The squad can, when not
performing smoke operations, operate one DED line capable of
decontaminating approximately six vehicles per hour.
