1.  MISSION.  TO PROVIDE COMMAND AND CONTROL, SUPERVISION,

3.  CAPABILITIES.

    A.  AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT PROVIDES:

        (1)  COMMAND AND CONTROL, SUPERVISION, AND STAFF
PLANNING FOR ALL UNITS ORGANIC OR ATTACHED TO THE SQUADRON.

        (2)  UNIT LEVEL PERSONNEL SERVICE SUPPORT, INCLUDING
PERSONNEL, ADMINISTRATIVE, LEGAL, HEALTH, AND RELIGIOUS
SERVICES, FOR ALL UNITS ORGANIC OR ATTACHED TO THE SQUADRON.

        (3)  UNIT LEVEL LOGISTICAL SUPPORT, INCLUDING SUPPLY
(EXCEPT AIRCRAFT CLASS IX), AUTOMOTIVE AND COMMUNICATIONS
MAINTENANCE, AND FOOD SERVICE, FOR ALL UNITS ORGANIC OR
ATTACHED TO THE SQUADRON.

        (4)  COMBAT ELECTRONIC WARFARE AND INTELLIGENCE
(CEWI) FLIGHT OPERATIONS FOR SUPPORT OF THE ACR.

        (5)  UNIT NUCLEAR, BIOLOGICAL, AND CHEMICAL (NBC)
SUPPORT FOR THE ASSAULT TROOP, THE THREE AIR RECONNAISSANCE
TROOPS, AND THE TWO ATTACK TROOPS.

    B.  THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE
FOR REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10%,
FROM APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2 TO APPROXIMATELY 80%
FOR LEVEL 3.

    C.  THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO A TYPE B ORGANIZATION.

    D.  THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVELS 1 THROUGH 3 ARE

    b.  Purpose and authority for the preparation and revision of
this Table of Organization and Equipment (TOE).

        (1)  Cyclic review in accordance with AR 71-32.

        (2)  This review and revision incorporates concept changes,
updates manpower requirements criteria (MARC), and applies
incremental TOE development procedures.

        (3)  This version of the TOE has been prepared in accordance
with the provisions of current TOE development regulations and
guidance.

        (4)  All equipment readiness codes in these TOE have been
reviewed to ensure strict compliance with AR 220-1, Unit Status
Reporting.  They also have been reviewed to ensure they are aligned
at the paragraph level of detail.

        (5)  The unit MARC code is 21A.  This is a combat support
unit that operates in the division area. It is mobile and moves.

2.  EMPLOYMENT.

    a.  The HHT provides command, control, supervision and planning
of operations for the Regimental Aviation Squadron (RAS), unit level
personnel and logistical support for all units organic or attached
to the squadron, and combat electronic warfare and intelligence
(CEWI) flight operations for the Armored Cavalry Regiment (ACR).

    b.  The RAS normally operates under the control of the regiment,
but may be placed under operational control of corps headquarters
for special situations or missions.  It is normally employed at the
squadron level but may be assigned missions below squadron level
for specific operations or periods.

    c.  The RAS is normally employed with organic assets but may
receive and operationally control other combined arms assets.

    d.  The squadron commander task-organizes the squadron to execute
assigned combat operations.  He organizes his staff sections so they
can aquire and assess critical information and determines and directs
those actions necessary for effective command and control elements
into a tactical operations center (TOC) and a rear command post (CP),
and designates an alternate CP.  A tactical CP (TAC) is integrated
and employed to enable the commander to be near his subordinate units
and to influence the battle directly.  It is located well forward on
the battlefield.

    e.  The location of the TOC and other support elements is
dependent on the factors of METT-T (mission, enemy, terrain, troops,
time available).  The TOC is positioned forward, but out of range
of enemy medium artillery.  It must be able to relocate frequently.
The rear CP is located with the squadron field trains, usually in
the regimental support area.  It also may be located in the corps
support area, dependent upon METT-T.  The squadron S1 and S4
sections operate from the rear CP and coordinate all required
support within the TOC

    f.  Combat service support (CSS) for the RAS normally is
organized in echelons, consisting of combat trains and field trains.
Combat trains are located as far forward as METT_T will allow and
consist of forward arming and refueling points (FARP) assets.

3.  METHODS OF OPERATIONS AND FUNCTION.

GENERAL REMARK.  The only personnel requirements listed in this
paragraph are those not covered by criteria and measurable
manpower requirements standards contained in AR 570-2 or
automated analysis related to AR 570-2.
