1.  MISSION.  TO PROVIDE AERIAL MOVEMENT OF TROOPS, SUPPLIES,
AND EQUIPMENT FOR SUPPORT OF MANEUVER, COMBAT SUPPORT, AND
COMBAT SERVICE SUPPORT OPERATIONS.

2.  ASSIGNMENT.  ORGANIC TO THE CORPS AVIATION GROUP, TOE
01410A.

3.  CAPABILITIES.

    A.  AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT PROVIDES:

        (1)  AIRLIFT FOR AIR ASSAULT OPERATIONS.

        (2)  AIR MOVEMENT OF TACTICAL FORCES (OTHER THAN
ASSAULT), FIELD ARTILLERY OR OTHER FIRE SUPPORT ASSETS,
TACTICAL AIR DEFENSE SYSTEMS, ENGINEER EQUIPMENT AND
PERSONNEL, OR OTHER RESOURCES FOR SUPPORT OF COMBAT SUPPORT
AND COMBAT SERVICE SUPPORT OPERATIONS.

        (3) CONDUCTING DAY, NIGHT, AND LIMITED VISIBILITY
COMBAT, CS, AND CSS OPERATIONS ACROSS THE ENTIRE LENGTH AND
WIDTH OF THE BATTLEFIELD AND IN SASO.

        (4) CONDUCTING OPERATIONS AGAINST AN ENEMY FORCE
FROM MULTIPLE DIRECTIONS.

        (5) INFLUENCING THE TEMPO OF FRIENDLY OPERATIONS.

        (6) RAPIDLY MOVING TACTICAL UNITS OVER GREAT
DISTANCES DURING CLOSE, DEEP, AND REAR OPERATIONS.

        (7) BYPASSING ENEMY POSITIONS, BARRIERS, AND
OBSTACLES TO ACHIEVE SURPRISE.

        (8) ENHANCING THE C3 PROCESS.

        (9) MOVING LARGE AMOUNTS OF SUPPLIES AND
EQUIPMENT TO SUSTAIN COMBAT OPERATIONS.

        (10) MOVING CRITICAL REPAIR PARTS QUICKLY TO
INCREASE THE COMBAT POWER OF THE FORCE.

        (11) CONDUCTING OPERATIONS BEYOND THE FLOT.

        (12) PROVIDES COMBAT SEARCH AND RESCUE (CSAR) WHEN
TASKED BY THE RESCUE COORDINATION CENTER.

        (13) CASUALTY EVACUATION (CASEVAC) AND PERSONNEL
REPLACEMENT OPERATIONS (TRANSPORTING REPLACEMENTS FORWARD).

        (14) PROVIDE RETAIL LEVEL AIRCRAFT REFUELING WHEN
CONFIGURED WITH EXTERNAL RANGE FUEL SYSTEM (COMMONLY
REFERRED TO AS 'FAT COW').

        (15) PERFORMING DART (DOWNED AIRCRAFT RECOVERY TEAM).

        (16)  UNIT LEVEL PERSONNEL SERVICE SUPPORT, INCLUDING
PERSONNEL, ADMINISTRATIVE, LEGAL, COMBAT HEALTH SUPPORT,
AND RELIGIOUS SERVICES, FOR ALL ORGANIC OR ATTACHED UNITS.

        (17)  UNIT LEVEL LOGISTICAL SUPPORT, INCLUDING SUPPLY,
AUTOMOTIVE AND COMMUNICATIONS MAINTENANCE, AND FOOD SERVICE,
FOR ALL ORGANIC OR ATTACHED UNITS.

        (18)  AVIATION UNIT MAINTENANCE (AVUM) FOR ALL ORGANIC
AIRCRAFT.

    B.  THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE FOR
REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10%, FROM
APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2 TO APPROXIMATELY 80% FOR LEVEL
3.

    C.  THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO A TYPE B ORGANIZATION.

    D.  THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVELS 1 THROUGH 3 ARE
DESIGNED TO RELATE TO THE CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED BY AR 220-1,
UNIT STATUS REPORTING.

    E.  INDIVIDUALS OF THIS ORGANIZATION, EXCEPT MEDICAL
PERSONNEL AND THE CHAPLAIN, CAN ASSIST IN THE COORDINATED
DEFENSE OF THE UNIT'S AREA OR INSTALLATION.

    F.  THIS UNIT PERFORMS UNIT MAINTENANCE ON ALL ORGANIC
EQUIPMENT EXCEPT MEDICAL AND COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY (COMSEC)
EQUIPMENT.

    G.  THIS UNIT IS DEPENDENT ON:

        (1)  APPROPRIATE ELEMENTS OF THE CORPS OR THEATER ARMY
FOR RELIGIOUS, LEGAL, HEALTH SERVICE SUPPORT, FINANCE, AND
PERSONNEL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES.

        (2)  U.S. AIR FORCE WEATHER TEAM IN THE HEADQUARTERS
AND HEADQUARTERS COMPANY OF THE CORPS AVIATION GROUP, TOE
01412A000, FOR AIR WEATHER SERVICE SUPPORT IN ACCORDANCE WITH
AR 115-10/AFR 105-3 AND FM 34-81/AFM 105-4.
