1.  MISSION. TO PERFORM AIR ASSAULT AND AIR MOVEMENT
OPERATIONS.

2.  ASSIGNMENT.  ORGANIC TO THE CORPS AVIATION GROUP,
TOE 01410A.

3.  CAPABILITIES.

    A.  AT LEVEL 1 THIS UNIT PROVIDES:

        (1)  AIRCRAFT TO TRANSPORT TWO INFANTRY RIFLE
COMPANIES IN A SINGLE LIFT WHEN AT LEAST 80 PERCENT OF THE
ORGANIC AIRCRAFT ARE AVAILABLE FOR FLIGHT.

        (2)  AIRCRAFT FOR AIR MOVEMENT OF TROOPS, SUPPLIES,
AND EQUIPMENT.

        (3)  AIRCRAFT FOR CASUALTY EVACUATION (CASEVAC) WHEN
MEDICAL AIRCRAFT ARE INADEQUATE OR NOT READILY AVAILABLE.

        (4)  INTERMEDIATE AND DELIBERATE COMBAT SEARCH AND
RESCUE.

        (5)  CONTINUOUS DAY AND NIGHT AVIATION OPERATIONS
DURING VISUAL AND MARGINAL WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LIMITED
AVIATION OPERATIONS DURING INSTRUMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS.

        (6)  UNIT LEVEL PERSONNEL SERVICE SUPPORT, INCLUDING
PERSONNEL, ADMINISTRATIVE, LEGAL, HEALTH, AND RELIGIOUS
SERVICES, FOR ALL UNITS ORGANIC OR ATTACHED TO THE ASSAULT
BATTALION.

        (7)  UNIT LEVEL LOGISTICAL SUPPORT, INCLUDING
SUPPLY, AUTOMOTIVE AND COMMUNICATIONS MAINTENANCE, AVIATION
UNIT MAINTENANCE (AVUM), AND FOOD SERVICE, FOR ALL UNITS
ORGANIC OR ATTACHED TO THE ASSAULT BATTALION.

        (8)  MAINTENANCE OF PROPERTY BOOKS FOR ALL ORGANIC
UNITS.

    B.  THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE
FOR REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10%,
FROM APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2 TO APPROXIMATELY 80% FOR
LEVEL 3.

    C.  THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO A TYPE B ORGANIZATION.

    D.  THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVEL 1 THROUGH 3 ARE
DESIGNED TO RELATE TO THE CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED IN AR
220-1, UNIT STATUS REPORTING.

    E.  INDIVIDUALS OF THIS ORGANIZATION, EXCEPT THE
CHAPLAIN AND MEDICAL PERSONNEL, CAN ASSIST IN THE
COORDINATED DEFENSE OF THE UNIT'S AREA OR INSTALLATION.

    F.  THIS UNIT PERFORMS UNIT MAINTENANCE ON ALL ORGANIC
EQUIPMENT EXCEPT MEDICAL AND COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY
(COMSEC) ITEMS.

    G.  THIS UNIT IS DEPENDENT UPON:

        (1)  APPROPRIATE ELEMENTS OF THE CORPS OR THEATER
ARMY FOR LEGAL, FINANCE, AND LOGISTICAL SUPPORT, INCLUDING
SUPPLEMENTAL TRANSPORTATION.

        (2)  THE U.S. AIR FORCE WEATHER TEAM IN THE HHC OF THE
AVIATION BRIGADE, TOE 01402A000, FOR AIR WEATHER SERVICE SUPPORT
IN ACCORDANCE WITH AR 115-10/AFR 105-3 AND FM 34-81/AFM 105-4.

4.  BASIS OF ALLOCATION.  ONE PER CORPS AVIATION GROUP,
TOE 01410A.

5.  CATEGORY.  THIS UNIT IS DESIGNATED A CATEGORY II UNIT.
