1.  MISSION.  TO PLAN, COORDINATE, AND EXECUTE AVIATION AND
COMBINED ARMS OPERATIONS TO SUPPORT THE CORPS SCHEME OF
MANEUVER.

2.  ASSIGNMENT. ORGANIC TO THE CORPS TOE 52000L.

3.  CAPABILITIES.

    A. AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT PROVIDES:

       (1) A FULL RANGE OF MANEUVER, COMBAT SUPPORT, AND
COMBAT SERVICE SUPPORT FUNCTIONS.

       (2) ATTACK HELICOPTER UNITS TO DESTROY ENEMY FORCES
BY FIRE AND MANEUVER.

       (3) ASSAULT AND HEAVY HELICOPTER UNITS TO MOVE
COMBAT PERSONNEL, SUPPLIES, AND EQUIPMENT IN SUPPORT OF
CORPS OPERATIONS.

       (4)  COMMAND AND CONTROL AIRCRAFT AND EQUIPMENT TO
ENHANCE COMMAND, CONTROL, COMMUNICATIONS, AND INTELLIGENCE.

       (5)  TARGET ACQUISITION AND AERIAL RECONNAISSANCE
AIRCRAFT IN DIRECT SUPPORT OF THE CORPS ARTILLERY AND IN
GENERAL SUPPORT OF THE CORPS.

       (6)  AUGMENTATION OF CORPS AIR AMBULANCE RESOURCES
WHEN REQUESTED BY MEDICAL AUTHORITIES.

       (7)  CONTINUOUS (DAY AND NIGHT) OPERATIONS DURING
VISUAL AND MARGINAL WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LIMITED
OPERATIONS DURING INSTRUMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS IN SUPPORT
OF COMBAT OPERATIONS.

    B.  THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE
FOR REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10%,
FROM APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2, TO APPROXIMATELY 80%
FOR LEVEL 3.

    C.  THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO A TYPE B ORGANIZATION.

    D.  THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVELS 1 THROUGH 3 ARE
DESIGNED TO RELATE TO THE CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED BY AR 220-1,
UNIT STATUS REPORTING.

    E.  INDIVIDUALS OF THIS ORGANIZATION, EXCEPT MEDICAL
PERSONNEL AND THE CHAPLAIN, CAN ASSIST IN THE COORDINATED
DEFENSE OF THE UNIT'S AREA OR INSTALLATION.

    F.  THIS UNIT CAN PERFORM AVIATION UNIT MAINTENANCE
(AVUM) ON ALL ASSIGNED AIRCRAFT, ARMAMENT, AND AVIONICS.
ALSO PERFORMS UNIT MAINTENANCE ON ALL OTHER ORGANIC
EQUIPMENT, EXCEPT COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY (COMSEC) EQUIPMENT.

    G.  THIS UNIT IS DEPENDENT UPON:

        (1)  APPROPRIATE ELEMENTS OF THE COPRS OR THEATER
ARMY FOR RELIGIOUS, LEGAL, COMBAT HEALTH SERVICE SUPPORT,
FINANCE, AND PERSONNEL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES AND
SUPPLEMENTAL TRANSPORTATION.

        (2) THE U.S. AIR FORCE TO PROVIDE A TACTICAL AIR
CONTROL PARTY FOR DIRECTING TACTICAL AIR SUPPORT.

        (3) THE U.S. AIR FORCE AIR WEATHER SERVICE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH AR 115-10/AFR 105-3 FOR AIR WEATHER SUPPORT.

4.  BASIS OF ALLOCATION.  ONE PER CORPS, TOE 52000L.

5.  CATEGORY.  THIS UNIT IS DESIGNATED A CATEGORY II UNIT.
