1.  MISSION.  TO FIND, FIX, AND DESTROY ENEMY FORCES USING
FIRE AND MANEUVER TO CONCENTRATE AND SUSTAIN COMBAT POWER TO
SUPPORT DIVISION OPERATIONS.

2.  ASSIGNMENT.  ORGANIC TO THE AIRBORNE DIVISION, TOE
57000L000.

3.  CAPABILITIES.

    A.  AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT PROVIDES:

        (1)  ATTACK UNITS FOR RAPID EMPLOYMENT AS A PART OF
THE COMBINED ARMS FORCE.

        (2)  AIRLIFT FOR AIR ASSAULT OPERATIONS.

        (3)  AIR MOVEMENT OF TROOPS, SUPPLIES, AND EQUIPMENT
WITHIN THE COMBAT ZONE.

        (4)  RECONNAISSANCE, SURVEILLANCE, AND SCREENING
OPERATIONS FOR THE DIVISION.

        (5)  FORCES FOR GUARD AND COVER OPERATIONS WHEN TASK
ORGANIZED WITH ADDITIONAL COMBAT AND COMBAT SUPPORT ELEMENTS.

        (6)  ELECTRONIC COUNTERMEASURES (ECM) AIRCRAFT AND
PERSONNEL FOR CONDUCT OF COMBAT ELECTRONIC WARFARE AND
INTELLIGENCE (CEWI) MISSIONS, UNDER THE OPERATIONAL CONTROL
OF THE MILITARY INTELLIGENCE BATTALION (CEWI), TOE
34265L000.

        (7)  AIRCRAFT TO SUPPORT AND FACILITATE COMMAND AND
CONTROL OF DIVISION OPERATIONS; TO CONDUCT FIELD ARTILLERY AIR
OBSERVER (FAAO) MISSIONS; AND TO PERFORM AIR MESSENGER
SERVICE, RADIO RELAY OPERATIONS, AND AERIAL RADIOLOGICAL
SURVEYS.

        (8)  AIRCRAFT FOR AUGMENTATIVE OR BACKUP AEROMEDICAL
EVACUATION.

        (9)  CONTINUOUS (DAY AND NIGHT) OPERATIONS DURING
VISUAL WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LIMITED OPERATIONS UNDER
INSTRUMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS.

    B.  THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE FOR
REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10 PERCENT,
FROM APPROXIMATELY 90 PERCENT FOR LEVEL 2 TO APPROXIMATELY 80
PERCENT FOR LEVEL 3.

    C.  THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO TYPE B ORGANIZATION.

    D.  THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVELS 1 THROUGH 3 ARE
DESIGNED TO RELATE TO THE CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED IN AR 220-1,
UNIT STATUS REPORTING.

    E.  INDIVIDUALS OF THIS ORGANIZATION, EXCEPT THE CHAPLAIN
AND MEDICAL PERSONNEL, CAN ASSIST IN THE COORDINATED DEFENSE
OF THE UNIT'S AREA OR INSTALLATION.

    F.  THIS UNIT PERFORMS UNIT MAINTENANCE FOR ALL ORGANIC
EQUIPMENT EXCEPT MEDICAL AND COMMUNICATION SECURITY (COMSEC)
ITEMS.

    G.  THIS UNIT IS DEPENDENT UPON:

        (1)  APPROPRIATE ELEMENTS OF THE DIVISION OR CORPS
FOR LEGAL, HEALTH SERVICE SUPPORT, FINANCE, PERSONNEL AND
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT, LOGISTICAL SUPPORT AND SUPPLEMENTAL
TRANSPORTATION.

        (2)  SERVICE SUPPORT COMPANY (TOE 34269L000) OF THE
MILITARY INTELLIGENCE BATTALION (CEWI) FOR INTERMEDIATE DIRECT
SUPPORT (IDS) MAINTENANCE ON ELECTRONIC WARFARE/INTERCEPT
(EW/I) EQUIPMENT.

        (3)  THE U.S. AIR FORCE FOR A TACTICAL AIR CONTROL
PARTY (TACP) TO COORDINATE AND CONTROL TACTICAL AIR
SUPPORT.

        (4)  THE U.S. AIR FORCE FOR AIR WEATHER SUPPORT IN
ACCORDANCE WITH AR 115-10/AFR 105-3 AND FM 34-81/AFM 105-4.

4.  BASIS OF ALLOCATION.  ONE PER AIRBORNE DIVISION, TOE
